In mineral processing plant,ball mill is placed often in a workshop with separation equipment. The pulp processed by grinding and separation is easy to transfer between devices, with convenient management and small footprint. Grinding includes ball mill, classifier and other equipment. The separation is often included in the process of flotation, magnetic separation, gravity separation, or joint mineral processing.

1.Ball mill and spiral classifier configuration

The ball mill and classifier should strive for self flow connection. The sand return from classifier should avoid mechanical transportation as far as possible. The slope adopted by ball mill discharged and sand return self flow from spiral classifier is shown in Table 1. The connection between the ball mill and the classifier is shown in Figure 1.

Note: The data in this table is suitable for the density of 2.85t/m ore, the slope is increase of 15-20% for the ore which density is greater than above.

The length of interspan between ball mills should be adapted to the length of interspace between the feed bin and the floatation, so as to facilitate the ore feeding. 2. Equipment configuration of floatation machine

Usually a grinding series corresponds to a flotation series, and there is a ball mill series corresponding to two flotation machine series or two grinding series corresponding to a flotation series.

The flotation machine with slurry suction capacity, the number of flotation cells in each operation must ensure that the foam product flows to the adjacent pre operation floatation tank. The open channel and the pressurized pipeline must reach the gravity gradient, as shown in Figure 2.

Experience shows that the large-scale flotation machine in daily processing volume 28-56m fand roughing large ore dressing plant more than 50000 tons of ore quantity for 14m volume; fand flotation machine for daily processing 25000-50000 tons of ore dressing plant; 2.8m fand volume floatation machine used in daily processing 10000 tons of ore dressing plant; only a small flotation machine for cleaning.

Arrangement of flotation machine must be easy to operate, maintenance and management, has the possibility of changing the slurry to adjust the circuit; parallel configuration of the column flotation foam tank should be opposite, the foam groove of the outer baffle should be higher than the 300-800mm operating platform, large-scale flotation machine operation platform in the tank at the top of the flat end should be set along the railings. The operation of the floatation machine should have good natural lighting and sufficient lighting to facilitate the observation of the bubble phenomenon.

Generally large floatation plants use centralized or local concentration of reagent delivery methods. The reagent delivery table is usually arranged on a floor between one or some of the inter - span floors. The pipe slope should not be less than 3% when pipeline is added to the added place through pipeline. The erection of pipeline must not obstruct the maintenance of flotation machine. Dry  reagent dosing is usually dispersed locally. The small floatation plant is often used for dispersing the reagent table, and its platform elevation must guarantee the self flow of the agent.

The flotation machine in Figure 2 is configured horizontally, and the ball mill and spiral classifier are configured longitudinally, the number of floatation machines series and the number of ball mill series are 1 to 1. The round ball mill feed silo is separated from the ball mill. The bubble groove of a parallel flotation machine can be seen from the diagram. Due to the small amount of foam concentrate, it is concentrated to a selected series treatment. Because the number of selected troughs is small, the size is small and the area of the workshop is effectively utilized, it is set up in a separate small span with a span of 4m and a length of 24m. In order to install the weighing scale for the ball mill feed belt conveyer, the ball mill feed bin has a distance from the ball mill span. The dosing table is centralized, and the preparation of the stirred tank is based on the 8.1m platform on the inter floatation. The mixing drum is very close to the dosing table, which is convenient for pipe erection and self flow, and the height of the reagent table is high enough to ensure that the agent flows to the place of adding. The electric hoist crane beam is fixed on the 8.10m elevation, and the center of gravity of the rail floatation machine is above the center of gravity. The repair site is conveniently transported by the side of the factory building with the outside world.

Figure 4 is a double row transverse configuration of the two stage ball mill and classification unit, and the flotation machine is arranged vertically in the adjacent two inter span. Because there are more dosing points and more floatation machines, a 9m is placed in the middle of ball mill and flotation machine to facilitate the addition and management of pesticides. The upper floor is placed in the equipment for the preparation and preparation of equipment, so as to ensure that the agent flows to the place of adding, and the lower layer is installed for the ore pump and the pump pool. In order to strengthen the operation of the equipment, a convenient lifting equipment is installed in each span.
